As a San Francisco Bay Area native, I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the California State University school system before going out of state to Texas A&M University, where I completed my doctorate in sociology. My academic journey has allowed me to merge my passion for sports, fitness, and social sciences, providing a well-rounded perspective on the physical and societal aspects of human movement.

With my kinesiology background, I have dedicated years to the sport and fitness industry, working as a fitness professional, managing health clubs, and coaching collegiate track and field. Currently, I work as an online health and fitness coach at Dr. Mike’s Fitness, where I help clients achieve their fitness goals through personalized, science-based programs.

In addition, my sociology doctorate has enabled me to explore the intricate relationship between society and physical activity. As an adjunct professor, I’ve taught and conducted research at various institutions, focusing on the sociology of sport and physical activity, contributing to a deeper understanding of how social factors influence and are influenced by sports and fitness.
